Question: If you were to choose a college today, which one would you choose, and why?
If I were to choose a college today, I would go to Cogswell College. I choose this one because its in a good area. The place at this college is sunny most of the time, and I love sunny days. I also would choose this college because it have one of the major I'm looking forward to pursue: Digital animation. This college is mainly for any digital artists. In fact, many people who graduated from this college got a job from Google or PIXAR.
If not for this college, then I would shoot for maybe UC Berkley or Stanford. Both of these two colleges offer another major I've been looking for: anthropology.

Descirbe a Risk...
Describe a risk you have taken and discuss the impact on your life
A risk that I have taken was going store to store and ask for application. Because I'm a fairly shy person, it's scary for me to go up on the front desk and ask for applications. My first time asking for an application I stutter because I was nervous. However, I took the risk of going to stores and shops and ask for an open job. After a couple of stores, I became comfortable in asking for applications for an open job. From that day forward, I've been having the guts to feel confident and ask for a job. With the confident I built on, I know that I will be able to use it later in life. \

If accepted...
If accepted to this school or for this scholarship, what will you do to contribute postively to the insitutuion or community? What will you bring to the school or community that is valuable?
My contribution to the community would be the time I take to tutor any children who needs help in any subject, mainly math and english. From tutoring kids in the past, I learned that many kids need help on their math and english homework. My borther, for example, struggles with his mulitiplication and division, as well as my cousin who have troubles doing word problems. Although it takes time and patient to tutor kids, it feels great when the student accomplished his and her homework and gives a smile. English is also a major problem for many students who learn english as a second language. When kids come in to tutoring, they bring in their book reports, grammar work, etc. to do. and whenever I help these kids, they are glad to have my help. So by contributing my time off to work with kids who need help with any school subjects, it helps the community as whole because I am helping more and more students understand the subject and pass their class.

Describe your room at home. In what ways does your room reflect you as a person...
My room is small. I share this room with my older sister so when it comes to space, there's hardly any for both of our things. In my room, there are two beds, one for me and the other is my sister's. My bed is next to the windows, and my sister's is right at the foot of my bed. I love the place my bed is at because every morning the sun will rise and I get the early morning feeling. It's the best place to be next to the window when it is during the summer time because the window is right next to my bed. Beside my bed is my laptop, and next to that is my bookshelf full with books, movies, cds, dvds, candals, and many various small items. Most of the time, my room is messy. If a person was to come into my room during the weekdays, they'll see heaps or piles of clothes at the foot of mine and my sister's bed. In the middle of the room, the observer would see school books open in the middle of the section with sticky notes place at every place in the book, and maybe next to the book(s) are handout papers or notes. On the wall of my side of the bed, are pictures hanging. There are pictures of my friends and family; mainly my cousins and I.
All in all, my room reflect me as a person. My room describes the person I am: studious, unorgainzed, and a family person.

People that have been important...
There were many people who have been and are still important in my life. My sisters, my aunt, my parents, my family all play a role in my life.
I look to my sisters for advice, help, confidence, etc. They are the people who I can turn to no matter the situation. We have a bond that always connect and link. I know when to step off from my sisters, and my sisters knows when I need to talk to someone. We were always good to one another. Although we have our bad moments with each other, yelling, screaming, fighting, our bonds as sisters grow stronger because of it.
My aunt has always been like a sister and a mother to me. Whenever I need advice from an older person I always go to my aunt for advice. If I cannot talk to my sister, I always go to my aunt. She's very calm and patient when she listen. She even understands what I am saying most of the time. My aunt and I are very similar and alike in ways. We are the third sister born, we like to read, have education as a high goal, and have the same taste for movies and cartoons. So when we talk about things, only both of us knows about it.
My parents and my family, in general, are really important to me. That are the people that help me grow and learn lessons. My parents pushed me towards the importance of education. They always remind me to never fall falt on school, and to always stay on top of the school. Although their reminder sometimes sound annoying, it always help me see college as something I should have and a goal I should grasp. I'm forever glad that my parents do what they have to do, like always reminding me to get straight As, or do my homework, or that college is very importnat, because what their words, I would never made it this far.

-Whenever I lose someone I loved to death, it really hurts me and change me in a way. I learn to appreaciate every moment and time with the people I love. I don't waste time, and always make sure I say what I want to say because you'll never know what's going to happen to the people you love. I hold onto the people I love and make sure they know how much they are to me so that if death suddenly come upon the, I won't feel any regret.
2. Going to a GATE school:
-Elkhorn really made me who I am today; hardworking, responsible, helpful, etc. My first time in Elkhorn, I really hate it like many students who hated Ben Holt. I didn't know the importance of it except that it was full of many rich kids. The school system was challenging and I hated the fast pace of work we went through. However, my six years of attending the school from 3rd grade all the way to 8th grade changed me. I learned how to take notes, learned how to organized, learned team building, friendship, and so many things. This school was full of happy memories with friends and teachers, and because of it, I am the person I am today. If it had not been for Elkhorn, I don't think I would've survived Ben Holt.

Issues I believe are significant to my generation:
The main issues that I believe are significant and importnat to my generation are: the economy, teen pregnancy, and entering into a good college. The economy is going into a crisis and we're losing money as a whole. By not solving this issue, it'll greatly affect my generation because that means it'll be harder to find jobs, less hours to work and make money, and more people are being laid off from work because of jobs closing due to the economy.
Teen pregnancy is also an issue that I think is important in my generation. Back then, preganancy was not so much of an issue because women mostly did domestic jobs such as: teachers, nurses, mothers, etc. They didn't have to worry about children being in the way of their work or their jobs or their school. However, in the present, women can do so much more. They can go to college, get a good job, and many wonderful things before settling down. Teen pregancy at an early age prevent the teenager to go to college, get a good job, etc. because the teen is a mother. A mother have the responsibility of feeding the kid, making money to help survive, and many other responsibilities. Therefore, teen pregnancy is an issue I am concern of my generation.
Last but not least, entering college is an issue that is important to me. When I was just in grade school, the word 'college' was already thrown around in my family. I was exposed to what entering into a good college really meant: a good education, a good job, and good money. Although I know that college is my goal after high school, it is not so for many high school drop outs and others who are not making it into college because of their low GPA. Many of these people don't realize the importance of getting into a college because they believe they cannot make it through high school. But what they don't know is that if they try and work hard in each of their class, they can go to a college no matter what.
